Bio

Dr. Thomas A. Kinney is a passionate Chiropractic Physician dedicated to helping patients achieve relief, optimal function, and peak performance. With a focus on addressing the root causes of conditions, Dr. Kinney provides patient-centered care designed to foster long-term wellness and resilience.

A native of Johnsburg, Illinois, Dr. Kinney earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, in 2016. As a Division I athlete, he excelled as a four-year starter, earning 1st Team All-American and All-Conference honors, as well as recognition on the MVFC Academic Honor Roll. Following his collegiate success, Dr. Kinney pursued a professional football career, earning NFL free-agent workouts with the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans, and New York Jets.

After retiring from professional athletics, Dr. Kinney turned his attention to healthcare, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the National University of Health Sciences in 2020. His clinical expertise includes chiropractic manipulative therapy (CMT), spinal decompression, soft tissue therapies, functional neurology, and rehabilitation exercises. Dr. Kinney also employs diagnostic tools such as X-ray evaluations, movement screens, and postural assessments to create tailored treatment plans for his patients.

Dr. Kinney’s commitment to advancing his knowledge has led him to participate in specialized seminars with the International Association of Functional Neurology & Rehabilitation (IAFNR) and Dr. Brandon T. Brock’s Health Systems. These programs have deepened his understanding of neurological pathways, peripheral nervous system evaluation, and effective management of neurodegenerative conditions.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Kinney is passionate about mentoring young athletes. He provides sports performance lessons to high school and college students, drawing on his personal experience as a Division I athlete and NFL free agent to guide aspiring athletes toward their goals.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Kinney enjoys playing golf and staying active, embodying the same dedication to health and performance that he encourages in his patients. His personal experiences as both an athlete and a healthcare provider give him a unique perspective on the intersection of fitness, recovery, and long-term wellness.
